The waters of Glen Lake are crystal clear and is the fifth most beautiful lake in the world, according to National Geographic. The hard sand bottom and very gradual descent make it very safe for families with small children. The lake is great for all types of activities including boating, swimming and fishing. There is a boat launch, and marina in very close proximity. We also maintain three anchor moorings for guest’s boats.

The Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Shoreline and Glen Arbor was designated in 2011 as the most beautiful area in the United States by Good Morning America, as a result of a national survey of the top 10 in America. Guests can bike the new Heritage Trail along the west shores of Lake Michigan. In addition, the beaches on the Lakeshore, Empire & Glen Arbor as the best in entire Great Lakes area as reported by the Great Lakes Authority in Chicago. Pure freshwater and 450-foot bluffs mean eyes-open swimming and vast views over Lake Michigan. Walk from the former Sleeping Bear Point Coast Guard Station, now a maritime museum, or along the Sleeping Bear Point Trail over low-lying dunes to the beach. In the distance look for North and South Manitou Islands, prime spots for hiking and camping.

5.0 "Fantastic Week!"

“Glen Lodge worked out perfectly for our family get together. It has been over 20 years since we stayed at the lodge and it is better than ever. The three suites made for great fun for the grandchildren, children and grandparents. The spacious lake front property, the dock and the swimming raft all got plenty of use during our stay. I can’t say enough about the hospitality the Ricker family showed us. We will be going back for many years to come.”

5.0 "Perfect Lake Location"

“Our family has been a guest at Glen Lodge for over 20+ years. We have enjoyed all the units over the years. Each unit is fully equipped for a comfortable stay – if not ask and you shall receive! Ed and his family are more than accommodating at making sure your stay is enjoyable. The location of the lodge is ideal. Just minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes as well as downtown Glen Arbor which are both easily accessible by car, foot or bicycles which are provided at the lodge. The water is within steps from each unit. A floating dock is further out in the water which is used for sunbathing, resting or just taking a book to get away from it all! The lake can be enjoyed in the evening for outdoor dining, with grills and patio tables available in each unit. Later in the evening the fun continues at the large outdoor fire pit which is shared by all the units. Nothing better that some of the stories we have heard from Ed as well as a number of guests throughout the years!! Our children have had great childhood memories at Glen Lodge and now as adults as they have included their spouses in a fun week! Don’t miss out on Glen Lodge.”

5.0 "Always a Great Experience!"

“We have stayed at the Glen Lodge many, many times over the past 20+ years. The suites are always clean and stocked with everything needed for a great family vacation! This is one of the best locations in the area! Not only is it on Big Glen Lake, but it is within minutes of the Dune Climb, the Heritage Bike Trail, Lake Michigan and all of the fun shops Glen Arbor has to offer! Thank you to Ed and your family for a great vacation experience!”

5.0 "Beautiful in the Fall"

“We’ve stayed with the Ricker family a few times. Always a wonderful relaxing vacation. Beautiful area, breathtaking sites and great food. Can’t beat the location, near the dunes, near Glen Arbor, close to wineries and shops. Hiking thru Sleeping Bear Dunes is priceless and Glen Haven is a charming stop full of history and a great museum.”

5.0 "It’s Our Family Tradition"

“This coming Labor Day (2017) will be our 7th year staying with Ed at the Glen Lodge! He and his family make it such a wonderful experience for us! We are not ‘repeat” vacation people, but this place is so magical that it keeps us coming back year after year! It is our favorite vacation spot and the best way to close out the summer! You can rent out the entire place with family and friends…which we have done…or just rent one of the units and that works perfect too! It truly is an awesome place and an awesome experience!”
