Located on forty acres, we grow our own vegetables have farm animals. The name of the property comes from the five acre Goji berry trees. Taos is 11 miles away.

The space

The D.H. Lawrence Cabin is located atTaos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm Retreat. Our cabins are nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surrounded by national forest. Our charming & quaint, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (ca: 20 miles).

Part of an eco lodge, this cabin sits on 40 acres among seasonal creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, organic berry orchards and great views of the mountains.

The cabin is a studio and can sleep two people in a queen bed.

We do have a small farm cafe, generally opening on Memorial Day and closing on Labor Day. We also serve pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, yoghurt, berries and fritata for a suggested donation. We also offer a farm breakfast at 8am and a farm lunch at 1:30 am Monday to Friday with out wwoofers (willing workers on organic farms) for an extra fee. Please give us 24 hours notice.

A seasonal vegetable garden and chickens provide produce and fresh ranch eggs to renters. A play ground is available for families with children. Nearby are opportunities for hiking, fishing, lama trekking, horseback trails. hot air ballooning, and natural hot springs are within driving distance.

San Cristobal is a small village and our eco lodge was built at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in our cabins and we found water colors from D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers from Frieda Lawrence in the attic of one of the cabins.

We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only about 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders’ roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation’s best. It also has an excellent children’s day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;

There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists’ studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.

There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

5.0 "Great experience"

It was a great experience and met my expectations. The place was very clean and the directions were clear. It was a good balance between "camping" and having amenities like running water, private bathroom, heaters, and wifi. Would 100% recommend!

4.8 "Great place with animals"

We had a great time and loved the property, especially the animals! The cabin (DH Lawrence) was cozy and rustic with a very comfortable bed. We were a little disappointed that the wood burning Japanese style hot tub was out of order, but we were able to use another modern hot tub on the property. Star gazing in the hot tub was amazing! We would love to come again in the summer.

5.0 "Great family farm"

I can only imagine how beautiful this place is in the summer, but for a winter getaway close to Taos Ski Valley it was lovely! Very much enjoyed the serenity of a family farm :) Would definitely visit again!

5.0 "Cozy place"

These cabins are incredibly cute and quaint. The fireplace was extremely cozy on a snowy Feb day/night. I wish we were traveling through in the spring/summer to see the farm in full swing. But grateful for a cozy spot to land during winter months. The breakfast burrito was A+ :)

5.0 "Wonderful Goji Farm!"

We had a wonderful stay at the Goji Farm! The directions to find our cabin were easy to follow, even in the dark. The farm is peaceful, and we loved getting to meet the animals. The hot tub was the perfect place to watch the sunset and look at the stars! There was a booklet of information about the farm, its history, and the area that was very informative. The Wi-Fi was very reliable, as we had no service. We would love to stay here again!

4.8 "Love the livestock and the stay!"

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay! The location was beautiful, the wood burning stove was amazing, and I formed a new favorite memory when we visited the livestock out in the field. The only note I have is that the mattress did have us waking up a bit sore in the morning despite being spritely 23 year olds. If you have back issues, just keep that in mind. Overall, we would love to come back one day and will be recommending it to our friends!

5.0 "Great place for a vacation"

The property itself is an entire vacation. There is so much to see while exploring the grounds! Absolute beauty in every direction, and so much thought and work put into it all. The room itself could be considered bare by some picky travelers, but it’s truly all you need on an adventure: a cozy place to end the day and start the next. The room had everything we needed! The heat worked well, the bed was extraordinarily comfortable, and the place served its purpose well. Lovely time.

5.0 "Perfect vacation and place!"

One of our favorite Airbnbs. We appreciated the peace and beauty of the land. The good land stewardship was felt. There were small artistic outdoor still life scenes created with pumpkins and dried flowers. We stayed during the last week of October and there was a sprinkling of snow. As a photographer, this created so many beautiful subjects. We enjoyed the whimsy of the alpacas, sheep, goats and the guardian donkey. The exotic chickens also brought a smile along with the friendly cats! The soaking tub under the stars was relaxing and a cosmic event. The room was old world elegance with its textiles. The bamboo mattress always provides a good night sleep. We are quite familiar with using a wood stove so that created a romantic touch. There is a heater on the wall as well. The curated shampoos and soaps have a subtle natural fragrance. They are all easy on the earth. The small kitchenette is enough. Jennifer, a staff member is friendly and helpful. We hope to return soon.

5.0 "Love the whole farm"

The love we have for our stay in the D.H. Lawrence and the whole farm itself is over the moon. Between walking amongst the berries, feeling the morning sunshine on our porch or hearing both the farm and wildlife enjoying the air as much as we did... it was perfect for what we were looking for. Proximity to Taos gave us a beautiful commute and a chance to 'get away' from our 'get away'. Cant wait to come back.

5.0 "Great stay in the Farm"

The farm stay was just what my partner and I needed after a long camping jaunt through the Southwest. We were able to do laundry, meet some cool folks from other parts of the country, and even got to try turkey eggs for the first time for breakfast. We loved all the animals roaming the farm; definitely worth staying if you’re in the area.

5.0 "Amazing property"

The cabin was super clean, easy to find, and pretty much any question could be answered in their detailed text. The bed was fresh and comfortable, and the space was well decorated. The animals were really cute, and the grounds were inviting. We really enjoyed how many seating areas we found throughout the property. The house keepers were really kind and did a great job, one even came out to give us an item we had forgotten on our way out. I would definitely recommend this cabin, and am interested in staying there or another space on the property in the future.

4.8 "Amazing place to visit"

The farm is an absolutely amazing place to visit. The hosts are very kind and friendly and the farm animals are wonderful to visit. Be advised that the Wifi is spotty and our bed was way too soft and left us hurting. The hot tub was out of working order which was a disappointment as that was something we searched for in a location. Overall it’s a beautiful stay.

0.0 "Everything is perfect!"

This place is pure magic, if you’d like to disconnect and enjoy some peace and serenity. The place is rustic, and charming, not to mention comfortable and everyone is super sweet and friendly. My daughter and I made a weekend get away of it and she (3year old) absolutely fell in love with the place from the minute she payed eyes on it! The animals, small playground, and hot tub seemed to all be her favorite parts of the place. Mine was the super comfy bedding and relaxing quite and beauty of the the place. We highly recommend the farm and will be back! John, Amalia, & Duke

5.0 "Highly recommend ecofarm place!"

Sweet stay tucked into the valley just a jump or so away from the Plaza. Nice to be accessible, but not in the thick of things. Cozy place—the wall unit was plenty for heat, but there is a rustic wood burning stove next to the kitchen if you are so inclined. Kitchen is very serviceable including a couple basic pantry items if you’re planning to bring groceries and cook (oil, salt and pepper). Bathroom is just fine, too, but I come from a family with big guys and thought it might be a squeeze for them. It was just 5’4” me, though, so with a little mindfulness, all was good. The place gets wonderful light and the window by the table provides a fantastic view toward the foothills—optimal for thoughtful gazing while attempting to write! Often saw the chickens scampering about, and had a welcome sighting of some goats and llamas when I arrived. The soaking tub sadly was out of commission both nights. They were busy working on it, but no dice. Will have to try it next time! Definitely recommend this cozy, rustic, ecofarm stay and look forward to my next visit!

5.0 "Amazing Farm to stay"

Amazing little farm up in the mountains. Incredible views, cute outdoor gathering spaces, precious farm animals. We stayed in March to go skiing and the room was super comfortable and warm, good hot water, sustainable energy and practices was a major plus for us too. There is very limited cell service up there so look over the directions carefully before hand.
