Wonderful Cabin

The Historic Bond Casita was wonderful for our trip. We arrived to find the wood burning stove prepared and ready to start the fire. The kitchen had all we needed to cook a nice meal. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the views from all around the cabin are breath taking. Farm fresh eggs were a big plus and my kids had a great time gathering the eggs and feeding the chickens.

Cozy and Peaceful

We had a very cozy and peaceful experience at the Pond Casita. It was snowy and cold so we made a fire both evenings. One of the caretakers on the farm brought fresh eggs over in the morning. It was a very nice, private experience, even with people staying nearby. It has a very cute and equipped kitchen for cooking simply and staying in! Next time we'll venture out further into the 40 acres. Thank you!

Has the Comforts of Home

We found the Pond Cabin nice and rustic with all the comforts of home- wood stoves, the best hot water in any Air B N B ever (!!!), sunny windows and a great back yard to watch the sunset from. Elizabeth greeted us with gorgeous, golden yolked eggs from the coop and gave me free run of the garden for our meal prep, which I gladly made use of. We were shown the endless supply of firewood and we made ourselves at home easily. We stayed two evenings, and on the second day, we met the first snow squall in Red River, came back to the cabin, stoked the fire and slept like babies. The check in and check out is effortless. The cabin is in a great location between Taos and Red River, which makes for easy adventuring or tourism and dining in town. This is a great lodging situation if you are used to doing your own cooking in or reheating great takeout from Cid's Market in Taos. Be aware that "spotty" cell coverage is exactly that. Expect your phone to be a paperweight at the cabin. We didn't have any issues as we planned to unplug, but if you aren't one who can shut off completely, please consider this fact well. Taos is well-powered with mobile coverage, if that helps.

Wonderful stay at The Farm

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the farm! Eric and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts and the farm was just as pictured, nestled in a mountain valley at an elevation of 7,400 feet. The weather in late August was perfect, with highs in the 70-80s and lows in the 50s. The D. H. Lawrence cabin was just right, with a comfortable bed and a small, but well-appointed kitchen. The location was perfect-- near enough to Taos and many other places in northern NM, but away from the touristy feel that so many places have. It was a much-needed respite from my chaotic life at home. Lying in the hammock, listening to the chickens and sheep while reading or knitting was so very relaxing. I had the additional pleasure of chatting with Eric & Elizabeth's daughter and her two lovely children. And then there were the WWOOFers! What a great group of young people there to learn about organic farming methods. It was lovely to enjoy my morning coffee with them, or share a glass of wine in the evening. Eric & Elizabeth have so many plans for additions and improvements to the farm in the next year. I can't wait to visit again next summer!

Welcoming hosts!

We had a free upgrade to the casitita. It was a great upgrade. Very quiet and peaceful place to retreat to if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our kids played with Sias grandchildren and even attended her grandchild birthday party. Host was very welcoming and really enjoyed the stay. Thank you for allowing us to visit. Highly recommend this place.
