Located on forty acres, we grow our own vegetables have farm animals. The name of the property comes from the five acre Goji berry trees. Taos is 11 miles away.

The space

The D.H. Lawrence Cabin is located atTaos Goji Eco Lodge and Farm Retreat. Our cabins are nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains and surrounded by national forest. Our charming & quaint, historic log cabins and casitas are in close proximity to Taos (11 miles) and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River (ca: 20 miles).

Part of an eco lodge, this cabin sits on 40 acres among seasonal creeks, ponds, aspens and cottonwood trees, organic berry orchards and great views of the mountains.

The cabin is a studio and can sleep two people in a queen bed.

We do have a small farm cafe, generally opening on Memorial Day and closing on Labor Day. We also serve pastries, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, yoghurt, berries and fritata for a suggested donation. We also offer a farm breakfast at 8am and a farm lunch at 1:30 am Monday to Friday with out wwoofers (willing workers on organic farms) for an extra fee. Please give us 24 hours notice.

A seasonal vegetable garden and chickens provide produce and fresh ranch eggs to renters. A play ground is available for families with children. Nearby are opportunities for hiking, fishing, lama trekking, horseback trails. hot air ballooning, and natural hot springs are within driving distance.

San Cristobal is a small village and our eco lodge was built at the turn of last century. Aldous Huxley lived and wrote in our cabins and we found water colors from D.H. Lawrence and letters to the publishers from Frieda Lawrence in the attic of one of the cabins.

We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only about 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders’ roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation’s best. It also has an excellent children’s day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;

There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists’ studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.

There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

Close to the cabins is an open barn with tables and benches. Guests are welcome to use the barn for meals and its a wonderful place to watch the sun go down over the distant mountains. 5.0 "Beautiful quaint cabin"

Beautiful, quaint cabin located 45 minutes from Red River or 30 minutes from Taos. Showers were nice and hot for cleaning up after a long day up on the mountain along with a stocked kitchen that allows for food preparation so you don't have to eat out if you would rather relax at the cabin. Wood stove in the main area works well while adding charm and warmth to the cabin.

Wood stove. Hot tub. Snow-crunching walks through the farm. Cross country skiing in nearby Red River. We couldn't have asked for a better stay outside of Taos. I'm so happy with this decision.

5.0 "Peaceful place in Taos Goji"

A great place to get away from the hussel of big city life! My husband, dog and I spent a few nights here. We’d drive in to Taos for most meals, but enjoyed sitting on the front patio of the cabin for breakfast and loved meeting all the animals around the farm. Made a fire in the potbelly stove both nights and kept real cozy. The bed was very comfortable!! Would highly recommend this spot and hope to make it back during growing season to see the farm in full working order. In the area we’d suggest the Black Rock Hot Springs, Michaels Bakery and Cafe, and Orlando’s for grub (to name a few!) But don’t forget to take some time and just enjoy the peacefulness of the Taos Goji!!

Make sure you wander around the farm, it's so sweet! Read the pamphlet in the room before you go so you can say hello to each of the animals by name :) Such a great little spot to stay near Taos --- I went to the Black Rock hot springs which are quite close too.

5.0 "One of our favourite place"

My wife, 8 month old daughter and our dog stayed here for two nights - we absolutely loved it. Very quiet, peaceful, and comfortable. We cooked two dinners in the cabin and there was everything we needed, including COFFEE which we had forgotten- a very nice touch! We loved walking around the grounds, meeting the animals, and exploring the area. The bed was VERY comfortable. Overall this was exactly what we were looking for - remote, beautiful nature, quiet, while also having a few other travelers around to connect with a chat about our days adventures. One of my favorite AirBnB experiences, we will definitely be back.

Came here for a couple of nights to explore Taos and get out of the heat. The place was very clean, easy checkin, and stocked to cook meals at home. Sia's farm was absolutley what made this journey of rest incredible! I stayed in cabin 4 which wrapped around me and my boyfriend is such cozy and comforting ways. The place was sparking clean, exceeded any expectation (though im.not sure I could have even guessed just how good it would have been) and provided such good conditions for rest! By all means I will be returning for a much longer stay! Its my new oasis getaway spot!

5.0 "Charming Farm Experience"

Staying at the Ecolodge is a charming experience. We booked the DH Lawrence cabin after our camping plans near Taos fell through. The cabin is quaint and clean with the basic needed to make a meal. We arrived after 6pm and proceeded to check in easily. The farm is 40 acres which you can walk around to see the sunflower and pumpkins, the animals, the goji fields etc. We met Sia and her husband only briefly but they welcomed us with open arms. Bed was comfy and linens were clean. Shower was clean and had soap, shampoo, and conditioner. We didn't get to use the hot tub or sauna but they looked nice. We walked to the top of the hill to watch the sunset. The view of the farms in the valley and mountains in the distance was worth the walk. Would recommend for people looking for a charming farm experience.

5.0 "Great Rustic Farm!"

The history of this farm is very interesting and written about in the information notebook in each room. The farm, animals and natural flowers were all delightful! Walking around the farm, laying in the hammocks and seeing the beautiful sunset from the deck of the Cantina are some of our great memories. This is a great rustic farm with interesting history! Be sure to write down the driving instructions ahead of time... as you may lose cell phone service in the area... like we did 😊

5.0 "Lovely Rustic Ranch"

The location is in the countryside outside of Taos on a lovely rustic, sustainable ranch, very close to the D. H Lawrence ranch. The cabins are connected and while on a large property, are right off the road so it wasn’t as private as I expected. Sia was so thoughtful to reach out to make sure I had directions since cell service stops on the way out of Taos and it is very dark at night. The chicken coop is amazing with many breeds and turkeys and ducks!

5.0 "Rustic Retreat in Taos"

This is a rustic retreat in the mountains beyond Taos on a farm with animals, flowers, a pond & fields. It is spectacular, as long as you are not expecting 4 star amenities. Everything worked great, the sheets & bed were clean & comfy, there was hot water for showering and the fridge kept my beverages cold. I loved sitting on the little porch in the evening, strumming my guitar. It was a cherished experience, if you have ANY connection to the history of Taos (Lawrence, Luhan, Huxley, O’Keefe, etc), it will stir your soul. A visit to the Lawrence Ranch up the hill is highly recommended!
