We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only about 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders’ roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. Being the home of extreme skiing, this is just not a resort for experts, with many beginner and intermediate runs. The ski school is one of the nation’s best. It also has an excellent children’s day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;

There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists’ studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.

There are three Art Museums in Taos: Harwood Museum of Art, Taos Art Museum and Millicent Rogers Museum that provide art from the pueblo Native Americans, Taos Society of Artists and modern and contemporary artists of the Taos art colony. The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

3.6 "Overpriced"

Honestly adding “rustic” to the title of this air bnb would go a long way. We did book this spot specifically for the jacuzzi as they are hard to come by in Taos, it was unavailable. Furthermore the bathroom had layers of filth along the bottom trim, and I did take pictures. With that being said, why be charged a $30 cleaning fee for a cabin that isn’t clean? Makes you wonder the sanitation practices during these especially trying times. I’d stay here again for a cheaper rate, but didn’t seem worth the $159 (fees included) a night price tag. Better luck staying at the historic Taos Inn for $100 a night. It was underwhelming.

5.0 "Rustic with a touch of history"

A very special place; rustic with a touch of history. There is plenty of land with many interesting and friendly critters. It's an excellent place to unplug and unwind, but we had everything we needed to connect with the outside world when duty called. Sia and Eric are ideal hosts in our minds: respectful, friendly, and interesting; people you'd enjoy getting to know. They checked in with us now and then, but let us explore and enjoy the property without much interruption. Location-wise, the cabin is a great midpoint between Taos and some of the lesser known outdoor adventures in Valle Vidal, Questa, and Red River. Would highly recommend. We will be back as soon and as often as possible.

4.4 "A little disappointed."

Ultimately, it was a bit of a letdown. It’s a lot more rustic and remote than is let on in the description. We saw over 15 bugs the first night alone. Our fan did not work- and the hosts were a bit curt and not helpful. WiFi was okay tho

5.0 "Comfortable and peaceful"

We had a lovely time staying on the farm just outside of Taos. Sia and Eric were very welcoming and provided helpful recommendations even while current circumstances are limiting. The space was comfortable and peaceful. We are excited to return for another quiet getaway at some point in the future.

4.4 "Too small"

Though the cabin site has a great history, we did not anticipate the cabin to be that small. It is a very tight fit for two people. Other things noticed were lack of working air conditioning, a lot of dust everywhere and also many bugs like flies and such. There is a large propane tank in the backyard which causes the unit to have a strong odor of natural gas and made us wonder if this was a hazard or fire risk. It was a somewhat expensive stay considering these elements. We have stayed in air BNB at half the price in a major city with substantially larger space and more amenities. However the bathroom was fully functional and appeared clean. The host also provided a well written guide to loca attractions which we appreciated.

5.0 "Wonderful farm animals"

We had such a wonderful stay. The farm, like most, was a little slice of magic complete with gregarious and entertaining chickens, sweet donkeys, and adorable kittens. The cabin was incredibly clean and charming. Olive oil, salt + pepper, and delicious coffee were provided. In the evening we made a little fire and listened to birds. In the morning we were gently woken up by the sound of a rooster. All the other guests were incredibly kind and respectful. We especially enjoyed the information about local sights and the family history of the farm. Next time I pass through New Mexico I would love to stay again.

5.0 "Great host"

Charming and rustic little cabin with a dazzling drive down. Sia was a great host, though we got in late and didn’t meet her in person. The pipes to our cabin froze, and we were unable to have hot showers. Upon letting Sia know, she offered to put us in another cabin, and when we were unable to do so due to our schedule, offered a refund. I would stay again!

5.0 "Special homestead"

Sia & Eric’s eco homestead is truly special. As a writer, I could be as secluded as needed, or chat with other guests in the gardens. I was gifted chanterelle mushrooms that were foraged the morning before I arrived, and since my unit had a kitchen I made a frittata with them. Spectacular sunset view!

5.0 "Beautiful eco-lodge"

Taos is beautiful and so is the eco-lodge. Sia and the folks around the farm are earnest in helping to make you comfortable. I am not used to the climate and tendency of people in the area to not use a/c (because it's largely unnecessary) but I got caught during a warm spell and found it difficult to cool down and sleep. However, the Eco lounge team found me a fan, which helped a lot! WiFi was hit or miss and I didn't have reception, but for every issue, the staff and helpers genuinely did try to fix my problems and the effort and that goes a long way. Recommend!

5.0 "Simple and beautiful"

Sia's cabin is really simple and beautiful. We had a lovely dinner outside at the picnic table in the garden and then wandered around the farm at dusk. Sia and her partner chatted with us and introduced us to their turkeys and chickens. We met a lot of charming farm animals and had a relaxing stroll through this very lovely space. Their farm has a lot of history and it is also clearly a very well loved and taken care of place. It was a pleasure to dip into their home for a night.

5.0 "Historical glamping community"

My family rented the pond casita and the dorothy brett. The pond casita was my favorite of the two. We really loved the farm animals on site and the barn cat lead us around and visited our door. A very sweet cat that purrs when you hold her. The cabins are decorated cute and comfortable. We loved building fires in the wood stoves and looking at the stars at night. The cabin was clean and had an issue with toilet flushing tp in DBrett but not in Pond Casita, but overall neat place. Any issues we had got addressed. I recommend for anyone that looks to go off grid and enjoy nature to come here. This place is like a historical glamping community. My family and I loved it. We will return for sure

4.4 "So small"

The place was okay, but run down a bit since the photos. Sort of a funky charm but the cabin was so small it was like being in a camper. It is not at the Taos Ski Valley ski area. It is a full 35 minute drive on dry roads to get to the ski area from the cabin. Did not see the host at all, some young farm employees checked me in but then were gone...I got an email early in the stay asking if everything were alright, I mentioned that the soap dispenser in the shower was empty. I have never heard back from them.

5.0 "A unique and charming place"

If you are looking to get off-the-grid, but not fully committed to it yet - this is your place. Taos Goji Eco-Lodge was the perfect place for our annual end-of-the-year getaway trip and we enjoyed every minute of it (even when it was 10 degrees out!). Since the Eco-lodge is far off the main road, and therefore has no cell service, Sia emailed us detailed directions several days before our trip. These directions proved extremely useful because we arrived at the Lodge late in the evening during a snow storm. Without these directions - who knows where we would've ended up. Knowing that the Lodge was far from any restaurants/markets - we picked up groceries beforehand and planned to cook the next couple of meals. The cabin is well-equipped with your basic kitchen needs such as stove, oven, fridge, cups/plates, cookware, olive oil, salt & pepper, and coffee. The bathroom was clean and the bed was actually quite comfortable. The cabin also had a wood-burning stove which provided plenty of heat and comfort our entire trip. My only wish was that the alpacas were out and that we had fresh eggs to make in the morning. But knowing this is seasonal...this just means that next time we're in the area - I will definitely be staying here! What a unique and charming place, thanks to the Eco-lodge for an amazing stay!

5.0 "A rich experience!"

Sia's place is an adventure in understanding living close to the earth and keeping things simple. We enjoyed feeding the animals and learning about the property including its future plans from Jeff and Tristane. It was a memorable experience for both me and my husband who came from similar backgrounds although different continents. Living close to the earth in our childhoods was revisited with many fond memories. The group breakfast was another way to share experiences and ideas with the owners and other guests. Thank you for a rich experience!

The Dorothy Brett cabin was absolutely perfect. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities one would need to make a meal. 5.0 "Unique blend of rustic and modern"

Sia's place is a unique blend of rustic and modern. How many places have a wood stove AND wifi? :) The cabin was small but well equipped. Great shower and super comfortable bed. The overall property is super funky and unique. Sia was great to communicate with - including providing detailed instructions for check-in as well as local tips. If you want someplace comfortable and isolated where you can hear roosters crow and see the stars at night, I highly recommend Sia's property.

5.0 "Beautiful property"

Very cute cabin. Beautiful property. The power went out due to high winds (I think) from 11pm until after 3am so we weren’t able to charge our phones, so if you don’t mind not having service and WiFi for a while, on the off chance the power line is sensitive again- then this is a perfect getaway spot. The cabin shares walls with other tenants and we never heard them through the walls the whole time so that was great :) also, the space was very mindfully decorated.

5.0 "Beautiful and charming space"

We were able to make a special trip for Nancy's birthday; it felt like four days fit into two and we were somehow so familiar and at a home in this new, beautiful space. It is rustic, it is off the path, it is a farm, and if you resonate this way it will charm you into a way of being you may have been longing for. We will certainly visit again and highly recommend like-minded to do the same.
