We are surrounded by national forest and a small river flows from the mountains and into part of the village.

Taos is only 11 miles away and the Taos Ski Valley and Red River only about 30 minutes away. Taos Ski Valley reminds us of the Swiss/French/Austrian founders’ roots blended with the traditions and customs of the local Hispanic and Pueblo Indian cultures. It also has an excellent children’s day care and ski facility, both skiers and snowboarders are welcome.

Taos is home to more than twenty sites on the National Register of Historic Places. The Taos Pueblo has been occupied for nearly a millennium and is considered to be the oldest continuously inhabited community in the Unites States. The Taos Pueblo was added as an Unesco World Heritage Site in 1992 as one of the most significant historical cultural landmarks in the world;

There are many ways to explore art in Taos. Taos is an old art colony since 1899. Some of the artists’ studios have been preserved and may be viewed by visitors. Many of the historic sites are homes and studios of artists, including the Mabel Dodge Luhan House,Eanger Irving Couse House and Studio, Joseph Henry Sharp Studios, the Leon Gaspard House, the Couse/Sharp Historic Site and the Ernest Martin Hennings House. On Ledoux Street, just south of the Taos Plaza, are the Ernest L. Blumenschein House and Harwood House.

The town has numerous art galleries and there are several houses of the Taos Society of Artists.

4.8 "A Little small"

the tiny cabin was a little small for the price, but price aside the cabin was freezing cold when I entered and took about 2 hrs to warm up so only complaint would be to pre heat the cabin before a guest arrives would be great 👍

5.0 "Cute location and animals"

This was a cute location with such friendly animals! I would recommend staying here more in the summer than the winter as I imagine the vegetation makes the farm and cabins look better. The Japanese soaking tub was nice, but I couldn't get it to go above the reading of 94 degrees, which on a very chilly winter night was not quite hot enough. The check in process was easy and I did arrive on Christmas day so I knew no one would be around. I do wish someone would have been there the next day as I really struggled to get the fire going in the wood burning stove, but the pump heater was sufficient. Overall it's a cute and decent place to stay and if I were to come back I would try out one of the larger cabins in the spring/summer.

4.0 "Magical stay!"

We had a magical stay at the Dorothy Brett cabin. The farm is beautiful and the cabin had everything we needed. The wood stove and heat pump provided were great and provided plenty of heat on a 25 degree night in December. It was awesome being steps away from the cedar hot tub and so many stars!!!

5.0 "Quiet cabin"

We had a great stay and enjoyed the quiet evening and dark starry sky from the Japanese soaking tub. The old charm of the cottage is cozy and has everything you need to be comfortable. We want to go back in summer to see the farm and goji trees in all their glory!

What an incredible place -I could easily live there forever! Beautiful location, perfect, tidy rooms with unique touches. Cutest, most playful farm animals and dachshund. I’m a big fan. It was my birthday and when I arrived there was a little birthday card and a bottle of local wine sitting out in an ice bucket for us. So sweet. Highly recommend

5.0 "A quiet place for a retreat"

This is a great, quiet place for a weekend retreat with a large amount of history included in the mix. The Japanese soaking tub is great for a relaxing afternoon. Added bonus: you can watch the chickens and turkeys from the tub. The cabin has the basic amenities that you'd need and the wood stove is a great way to keep the cabin warm in the winter months.

5.0 "A Special spot"

A quiet retreat on the farm in NM was just what my soul needed. I was so happy to arrive at Taos Eco Goji Retreat and to my little cabin. I met Sia out back when I arrived and she pointed me in the direction of a lovely hike just up the road. It was quiet and so nice to walk in the ponderosa forest. I loved soaking in the Japanese soaking tub at sunset; visiting with Meghan the property manager and the baby goats and llamas and the sweetest donkey! I hope to be able to return to this special spot someday.

5.0 "COME VISIT IMMEDIATELY"

You guys…. COME VISIT IMMEDIATELY. No joke we absolutely loved our stay at the cabin the entire farm is beautiful, quant and the staff and animals are so welcoming and nice. We planned to cook dinner at the cabin and were surprised to find most cooking tools we needed to complete the job. Bed and bathroom were perfect but the most Outstanding experience by far was the no chlorine wood burning hot tub. Especially as the nights are a little cooler. Definitely a remote part of New Mexico but that’s what we were shooting for and honestly next time we will probably come stay for an entire week. Thank you again!! Ps the historical aspects of the farm are such a fun part of the experience (for big readers like me.)

5.0 "Cozy Cabin"

We absolutely loved staying in the cozy cabin for two nights, we really didn’t want to leave. The surrounding area is also amazing- hammocks under trees with string lights and beautiful picnic tables to read a book and have some lunch. My dog especially loved meeting all the alpacas and the donkey while on leash. The Japanese soaking tub was very dreamy at night under neath the stars. Anytime we are back in the area we definitely will be staying here again.

5.0 "Authentic place"

If you are looking for absolute quiet, campfires, farm fresh vegies, apples, eggs, starry nights of the Milky Way - this is it! The cabins are stocked with the essentials for the kitchen and bath. Sometimes the power goes off at night, but it comes back on quickly. The property is like an extended family. Make sure you read the property details for everything you need to know. Bring packets of detergent if you want to use the laundry facility. Also...Eco Lodge means ecological, not economy. It is a working farm with rustic charm and an amazing history of literary luminaries. The location is amazing...Taos, Red River, hiking, the Rio Grande Gorge, wine tasting vineyards, hotsprings, fishing, and more. This place is authentic, not faux glamping! There is even an outhouse hand built by the author of Brave New World...not joking!! Of course, no need to be brave to use it because it is not operating 😊

5.0 "Good place to stay"

The cabin was very clean on my arrival and there was an electronic air sanitizer running. Even though the weather was unusually warm it was not uncomfortable inside, especially when using the fan provided. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing simple meals and the bed very comfortable. Although the growing season was nearly over I was given some delicious fresh vegetables from the garden. This is a good place for a single or couple to spend a quiet few days in the country, and Taos is only 20 minutes away.

4.6 "Adorable place"

Adorable space for a semi-reasonable price. The hot tub is shared with everyone on the property so don’t expect to have it to yourself ever. I know it’s a farm and critters are to be expected but my room was absolutely spider infested (I walked into 6 in the bathroom alone) and there is definitely a rat living in the house, scared the living poo out of me when he ran over my foot.

5.0 "Well maintained"

I liked the cabin for a short weekend. It was pretty well maintained. The unit was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and a little kitchenette perfect for light meals. The definite draw for me was the farm and the alpacas. The grounds were lovely, wild with pretty flowers and grasses, cozy rocking chairs, hammocks, a neat little chapel, fire pit, and a hot tub. The cabins are close together, so not quite as isolated as I would have liked, but it worked out. The hosts were fantastic, and came out in person to answer a question I asked over the messages feature in the app. They were super friendly and made us feel right at home. All that said, I probably wouldn’t have chosen this cabin for a stay much longer than a couple nights. The walls were thin (we could hear our neighbors talking) and the window stuck, and unfortunately the water temperature and pressure were very inconsistent, making showers a bit stressful. There’s also no AC, which was okay because the cabin stayed relatively cool, but that’s a feature that would be nice to have. This is a bit further outside of town than you’ll want to stay if you’re planning on spending a lot of time in Taos. But sometimes staying on the outskirts of town is nice because it’s more homey. (And less expensive.) It was not perfect, but there was a lot I liked about it and the value was great.

We stopped overnight in this cabin and absolutely loved it. The property is delightfully quirky, the cabin was immaculate, and the personable volunteers took great care in providing firewood and directions. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and having a fire in the wood stove gave us the feeling we were camping. Also enjoyed the assortment of animals that call the place home.

5.0 "A beautiful setting."

10/10 would stay here again. The farm is just an absolutely beautiful setting. The farm animals were so cute and charming, and the space was rustic but a lot nicer than expected (the bed and shower were both better than what I've got at home). I had zero problems with the dirt road even with five inches of snow and my car having rear wheel drive and no ground clearance. Worth noting that the rooster wakes up around 8 am so prob not an ideal setup if you like to sleep in super late, but we personally didn't mind. Also note that you're pretty far out so you should probably stop at the grocery store in Taos on the way in, especially since a lot of places are closed due to COVID. Can't wait to go back in the summer!!

5.0 "Cute place"

Cute place. Much smaller than expected, make sure to bring your own cook wear, double check current covid restrictions because this will lead you to believe that the hot tub is currently open which it is not. That’s not their fault but the ad may be misleading. Hike up the road was very nice. Definitely a little rough around the edges but had a good time.

5.0 "Perfect rustic place"

Me, my husband and our 80lbs dog stayed there. The place is small as written on the description. I read some reviews complaining about the space, and I don’t understand and they make it clear the size. I also read about the place being dirty, and I definitely don’t agree. It’s a historic place, so of course it doesn’t have that “clean” look, but it wasn’t dirty at all. There’s not a lot of storage and fridge is small so I don’t recommend to bring a lot of food at once. Overall, it’s a simple and rustic stay, and for us was perfect.
